The All Hail Hereafter is the indie-rock / baroque-pop / jazz-punk quintet of your dreams!
Based in Chicago, we are comprised mostly of veterans of the local scene who have worked together in various incarnations in music and theatre over the last 15+ years, and there is no denying the chemistry and musicianship at play in this project. Lead singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter Joanna P. Lind invites the audience on a journey of introspection and catharsis through soaring and catchy melodies, the emotional content and complexity of which is amplified by Kathryn Diana on violin and Roy Freeman on cello. The rhythm section of Tim Hill on bass and Peder Simon on drums supplies both a groove and an edge that balance Joanna's expressive vocals.
Joanna's songwriting and the band's arrangements draw from many influences, the sound and vibe of which are along the lines of Florence + the Machine, Aimee Mann, and Fiona Apple, with an ear toward the early Decemberists or a less electronic Muse. The result is a truly unique and authentic experience no music lover would want to miss!
